In the meantime, Li Heng’s men moved immediately. Since Shen Qianan went missing from the mansion, his men started looking from there.
While they were looking for Shen Qianan at the mansion, Ying had already brought her elsewhere. It was a place she didn’t recognize. Where is this place? All I remember is the guy who’s always by Fu Sijue’s side came after Fu Sijue left, and he gave me a slap. Shen Qianan lost consciousness after that. When she woke up again, all she could feel was herself lying in a cold and wet place.
She got up from the ground, only to realize that her hands and legs were chained up. She was completely surrounded by darkness, and there was no light anywhere.
After fumbling around for a while, Shen Qianan heard footsteps approaching her. Perhaps it was because she was in complete darkness that her sense of hearing had been heightened. Not long after, the door was pushed open, and the light that seeped into the room blinded Shen Qianan momentarily. When her vision adjusted to the sudden brightness, a tall and lean figure soon came into sight.
Shen Qianan stared at the man as the sound of his footsteps got closer. “Did he ask you to do this?” she asked calmly. If one was more sensitive, they would’ve sensed the despair in her voice.
The man looked back at her with disdain in his eyes.
Ying had been by Fu Sijue’s side for the longest time. Ever since Fu Sijue planned and executed the plan in secret from the very beginning, Ying had been around him and watched Fu Sijue build his empire step by step. The reason Fu Sijue planned to abduct Shen Qianan four years ago was to mess with Fu Chengyan. Though Fu Sijue had planned and considered everything, he misunderstood Fu Chengyan’s feelings toward Shen Qianan.
Fu Chengyan did not love her, and Fu Sijue ended up falling in love with her instead.
For someone who was seeking revenge, love was both a luxury and a taboo. Back then, Ying watched as Fu Sijue struggled to choose between vengeance and the woman. In fact, the latter was about to give up on the revenge he had so meticulously planned for the sake of Shen Qianan. Everything he had built with difficulty was about to be ruined because of her.
How could Ying possibly watch and let this woman get in the way of things?
Shen Qianan never would have expected that Fu Sijue would fall in love with her either.
Ying cast a cold, indifferent glance at Shen Qianan and saw despair in her eyes. His voice was also void of emotions as he said, “You should know that Mr. Fu can do and get everything he wants. No one can stand in his way! Not even you!”
Shen Qianan suddenly laughed as she looked at Ying. “No one?”
Ying knitted his brows. “What are you trying to say?”
She lowered her head as she clenched her fists. “Nothing much. But, it’s just that he failed four years ago, and Fu Chengyan’s authority is even more powerful now than it was back then. Besides, it’s not just Fu Chengyan that he needs to worry about. There are Pei Jingxiu, Li Heng, and Su Shaoqing too. I’m pretty sure that you know who they are, don’t you? If Fu Sijue’s really that amazing, why doesn’t he face them up front? Why does he have to resort to underhanded means like this?”
“You!” Ying lowered his body and stretched out his hand to grab Shen Qianan’s neck.
He was looking coldly at her, but she laughed instead. “You wish to kill me, don’t you? Unfortunately, Fu Sijue wouldn’t allow you to, am I right?”
The veins on Ying’s forehead began to protrude when he heard what she said. “Who are you to make Mr. Fu give everything up? You’re overestimating yourself! The reason Mr. Fu let you go four years ago was that he didn’t want anything to do with you anymore,” he spat.
Unfazed by his words, Shen Qianan chuckled instead. “Oh, really? Then why didn’t he kill me? Shouldn’t he have done that when I unmasked him and knew who he was?”
Shen Qianan got up from the ground, but her legs were chained up. She only managed to take a few steps before she crashed onto the ground because of the chain.
All of her strength had left her body, and she sucked in a quick breath when she felt the jolt of pain in her palm. Besides that, she had also sprained her ankle due to the chain.
Nonetheless, she got up and looked at Ying. “Is it really Fu Sijue’s doing that I’m being locked up here?”
He remained quiet. The next instant, he lowered his body to grab her mouth and forced something into her mouth.
Shen Qianan kept her mouth shut with all her might, but her strength was no match for Ying’s. He squeezed both her cheeks and stuffed the pill into her mouth, forcing her to swallow it.
Shen Qianan continued to struggle against the man and bit down on her lips, refusing to give up. Soon, her lips turned scarlet red as blood gushed from the bite wound.
The next moment, Ying let go of her, and she slumped to the ground. He looked at her with an indifferent gaze as if he was looking at a struggling ant. “Indeed, Mr. Fu doesn’t allow me to kill you, but he didn’t say anything about touching you.”
Shen Qianan refused to let herself falter. She continued to look at him and asked, “Four years ago, was it also you?”
Suddenly, she laughed. “You want me dead because you’re afraid that… Fu Sijue will give up on his vengeance because of me?”
“No. I’m not going to kill you. A woman like you isn’t worthy of dying in my hands.” He looked at her in disdain. “Killing you is as easy as stepping on an ant, but you’re not worth staining my hands over. Although, I don’t mind letting you have a taste of what it’s like to be in a living hell!”
Peering down at her, he sneered, “Well, since you’re not afraid of death, the pill that I’ve just forced down your throat is a catalyst that will trigger the virus in your body. Ms. Shen, you shouldn’t have come back here. If you didn’t return, I might even turn a blind eye. However, now that you’re back and almost ruined Mr. Fu’s plans, I can’t let you go!”
After saying that, Ying cast a mocking glance at Shen Qianan, who struggled to get up and kept falling back down. Very soon, the virus in her body would be triggered. Usually, the poison wouldn’t be triggered unless there was a catalyst, but the poison in her body was extracted from Shi Nuan’s body from the beginning, so the effects would naturally be more severe. Besides, the virus in Shi Nuan’s body had already been triggered once.
Shen Qianan felt as if she was being pricked by needles and bitten by ants. Words could not describe the agony she felt at that moment, and her body was soon overwhelmed by sudden coldness and heat, coming in waves.
Colors began to drain from her face, making her look as pale as a ghost. She stretched out a hand and clawed at the ground. Although she was itchy all over, the pain was even more unbearable.

Shen Qianan gritted her teeth, and her eyes blazed with fury as she looked at him. Each word she uttered took up plenty of energy. “Aren’t you afraid that Fu Sijue will kill you if he sees me in this state when he gets back?”
However, Ying was unbothered by what she said. “Mr. Fu will only be grateful that I helped him make his decision when he is in a dilemma. A woman like you will only bring disaster. Once he gets his revenge, I’m sure he won’t even remember someone like you once existed in this world.”

Her words were met with the sound of the door being slammed shut.

Just then, she recalled the first time she met Fu Sijue. I remember I made Fu Sijue mad and even told him that my life would be a living hell if I fell in love with him. Haha!
Shen Qianan didn’t know what living hell felt like before, but now she did. If this was what it felt like, she would rather die than live a life of torment.

Shen Qianan rose her hand to her face and clawed at it. Soon, blood poured from her wounds. Although she couldn’t see anything in the dark, she could feel that blood had trickled down her face and was getting to her neck.

Shi Nuan woke up with a jolt, causing her to clutch her blanket tightly with both hands. The moment she sat up from the bed, her eyes widened in shock. It was as if she had just been through a nightmare.
There were beads of sweat covering every inch of her face. Shi Nuan felt both hot and cold at the same time, and her hands were trembling. The feeling was too real to the extent that it was terrifying.
She glanced downward, looking at her hands. “Yan!” she yelled.
At first, Fu Chengyan was reading something in another room, but he rushed over immediately when he heard her scream. He quickly held her in his arms when he saw how she was trembling. “I’m here, May. I’m here. You’re okay. Don’t be scared.”
However, Shi Nuan continued shaking. A long time passed before she gulped and hugged Fu Chengyan back, tightly. “Yan, I had a nightmare. In the nightmare, I was locked up in a dark cell. I couldn’t escape no matter how hard I tried. Moreover, I dreamt that my illness is back, and my entire body ached all over. It was excruciating. I tried calling for help, but no one came to save me. I…” her voice trailed off. As she spoke, her hands were clutching onto Fu Chengyan’s arms.
Suddenly, Shi Nuan got startled, and she pushed him away. “No. That wasn’t me.” The person in the nightmare looked like me, but she wasn’t me. She wasn’t pregnant. Her stomach was flat. ”Yan, it’s Qianan! It must be her! Didn’t you promise me that you’ll save her? Where is she?”
The more she thought about it, Shi Nuan became even more convinced that the person in her nightmare was Shen Qianan. “Yan, where is she? Where is my sister?”
“May, listen to me. Calm down!” Fu Chengyan held her arm as he tried to comfort her. “Calm down. Shhh… Take a deep breath. Don’t panic.”
There was no way Shi Nuan could calm down. She looked at him in his eyes. “Be honest with me. Did something happen to her? Why isn’t she back yet after so long? Yan, don’t lie to me. Qianan…”
