Chapter 598 Is This Appropriate
Shi Nuan bit her lips while she looked at Fu Chengyan in confusion. The latter knocked on her head and said, “Do you think that Shen Qianan has no feelings for Fu Sijue?”
This time, Shi Nuan took a hard look at the situation happening inside and immediately furrowed her brows. “The problem between Fu Sijue and the Fu clan has not been resolved yet. I can’t let Qianan be with a man like that!” she grumbled.
“I seriously can’t tell whether you’re the younger or the older sister,” Fu Chengyan replied sourly.
Instantly, Shi Nuan blushed. “I’m just worried about Qianan. She has struggled and been through a lot over the past few years. Besides, I only found out about her recently. I would love to spend more time with her and Yu…” Her voice got quieter as she spoke.
Fu Chengyan heaved a deep sigh. Of course, he knew exactly what she was thinking. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have brought her over.
Naturally, Fu Sijue could hear the voices outside the room. He turned his head and looked toward the entrance.
Realizing that Fu Sijue had seen them, Fu Chengyan pushed the door open and walked in confidently while holding Shi Nuan’s hand. He nodded lightly to Fu Sijue, and the latter also responded with the same action.
On the other hand, Shi Nuan stared at Fu Sijue warily. Even though they had met each other before, Shi Nuan did not have a good impression of him. Moreover, with what happened previously, she couldn’t help but showed hostility toward him.
Despite that, Fu Sijue gave them a nonchalant smile. “Since you guys are here, have a chat with Qian and keep her accompany,” he urged.
“Duh!” Shi Nuan replied with a snort. I don’t need an outsider like you to remind me!
She tilted her chin up and glanced at Fu Sijue before walking toward Qianan. “Qianan! How could you not tell me that you’re injured? Yan is annoying, too. He didn’t tell me and even refused to let me visit you in the hospital!” she complained. She then asked in concern, “How are you feeling right now?”
“I’m okay.” Shen Qianan smiled and answered. After everything that she had been through, seeing Shi Nuan again made her feel like what happened in the past didn’t matter anymore.
“I just didn’t want to make you worry about me. Look at you! Don’t you feel uncomfortable running around while being pregnant?” Shen Qianan took Shi Nuan’s hand, her gaze falling on the latter’s belly. “Time flies! Your belly wasn’t so big the last time I saw you,” she remarked.
Shi Nuan smacked her lips. “I know, right? It’s growing bigger and bigger every day like a balloon,” she said worriedly. “My belly is all stretched out. I feel like all these extra skin will stay with me even after I give birth.”
She shivered uncontrollably as she pictured the image. “Just imagining it scares me already!” she exclaimed.
Shen Qianan couldn’t help but let out a peal of laughter. “Silly girl, it’s not that big of a deal. Just remember to exercise regularly and eat according to the dietician’s advice, and your body will recover in no time! I was the same when I had Yu. Look at me now! I’m still looking good, right?” Qianan chuckled.
After hearing what she said, Shi Nuan took a good look at Qianan. “You’re right!” she nodded. Shen Qianan was indeed in good shape, and she looked healthy as well. Also, there was neither excess fat nor loose skin on her body.
“Right? So don’t be worried! As long as you pay attention to your meals, everything will be fine,” Qianan reassured her.
“I hope so!” Shi Nuan then pinched her own cheek and asked with a frown, “Qianan, look at me. Did I gain weight?”
“It’s okay to gain some weight. It’s actually good for the baby,” Shen Qianan comforted.
As they were immersed in their girl talk, they seemed to have forgotten about the existence of the two men in the room.
Fu Chengyan and Fu Sijue met each other’s eyes, but the thoughts in their minds were not exactly the same.

He was drowned in regret. As he listened to the conversation between Shen Qianan and Shi Nuan, he gazed at the former fondly, the admiration almost flowing out of his eyes.
Shen Qianan was talking to Shi Nuan when she suddenly felt that the atmosphere in the room was off. When she finally realized something, she looked at Fu Sijue and Fu Chengyan in bewilderment.
Shi Nuan raised her head as well. When she saw that Fu Chengyan and Fu Sijue were still in the room, she demanded, “How could you guys eavesdrop on us?” Pouting, she added, “You have no manners!”
The corner of Fu Sijue’s lips twitched when he heard what she said. It was then that he understood Fu Chengyan’s words the other day about how Shen Qianan and Shi Nuan had opposite personalities despite their identical looks.
Calmly, Fu Sijue withdrew his gaze. “Qian, are you hungry? What would you like to eat?” He smiled faintly and looked toward Shen Qianan.
Shen Qianan was not used to Fu Sijue acting like this, but she did not say anything because Shi Nuan and Fu Chengyan were there. She nodded lightly, saying, “Yeah, I want steamed soup dumplings!”
“Me too!” Shi Nuan couldn’t help but chime in. She even wiped her mouth and looked at Fu Chengyan with puppy eyes as she called out, “Yan.”
“No problem.” Fu Chengyan’s eyes were full of smiles.
He ran his hand through Shi Nuan’s hair and patted her forehead lightly, promising, “Stay here and don’t go anywhere. I’ll be right back.”
“Okay.” Shi Nuan nodded and urged, “Hurry up!” Her eyes looked like crescent moons as she turned to Fu Sijue with a smile. “Brother-in-law, you should go along with him!”
Fu Sijue was astounded to hear Shi Nuan addressing him that way. Nevertheless, he was pleased. “All right. You guys…” He trailed off when he saw that Shen Qianan was also stunned by Shi Nuan’s words. A fainted blush appeared on his cheeks as his mood brightened up further. “I’ll let you guys talk,” he continued.
As he smirked in delight, he looked a bit silly. Upon seeing his expression, Shi Nuan thought he looked like a fool.
Of course, Fu Sijue didn’t know what Shi Nuan was thinking. He was still on cloud nine as he walked out of the room. When he saw Fu Chengyan, who seemed to be waiting for him, he walked over and called out, “Mr. Fu.”
Fu Chengyan stayed quiet for a while. Then, he started, “Logically speaking, you’re part of the Fu clan. What do you think about this?”
Fu Sijue pursed his lips over Fu Chenyan’s question. “To be frank, my last name doesn’t matter to me. Since Grandma doesn’t want me to return, I think staying in the Yun family isn’t a bad idea.” He knew that he was previously blinded by hatred. As a matter of fact, he had no interest in the Fu clan’s wealth.
“I actually hope that you can come back to the Fu clan and help us out.” Fu Chengyan persisted despite understanding what Fu Sijue meant.
His words surprised Fu Sijue. The latter narrowed his eyes, seemingly studying Fu Chengyan.
Fu Chengyan smiled at his reaction. “Grandpa was asking when you and Great-aunt can visit the Fu residence.” After a pause, he added, “Yun Shen, too. When can he come?”
Fu Sijue thought in silence for a short moment before saying, “Let’s wait until Qian feels better. By then, if you still-”
“Shen Qianan is May’s sister,” Fu Chengyan interrupted before Fu Sijue could finish speaking. With just one sentence, he made his stand.
Hearing that, Fu Sijue let out a laugh. “Regarding the poison in their body, I will search for Huo Shenxing.” After all, he was the one who caused it to happen, so he had to take up the responsibility.
“No rush. Even though Huo Ling’s medical skill is no match for Huo Shenxing’s, she’s still quite good,” Fu Chengyan replied nonchalantly. “As for Li Heng…”
“I will go search for Li Heng,” Fu Sijue answered. In fact, he never expected Pei Huan and Bao to be poisoned. To be more precise, it was not within his expectation at all, and what happened to Li Cenbei was also unforeseen.
