“No, it’s not real. No way!” Shi Wei took two steps backward. At that instant, she felt Su Su, who was before her, was so unfamiliar and scary. “Su Su, you lied to me, right? “No. Su Su, you—I’ll kill you! It’s all because of you!” Shi Wei only realized then that Su Su hated her intensely. Otherwise, Su Su wouldn’t have done this to her. “Did you deliberately approach me to be my assistant so you could do this to me? Su Su, we’re friends!”

“What did you say? What do you mean?” Shi Wei looked at Su Su, obviously shocked. “Y-You’ve been Fu Chengyan’s pawn for a long time?”
“You’re right. It was Fu Chengyan’s order for me to approach you. Oh, right! You might be oblivious that Fu Chengyan has already acquired Huancheng. You will lose everything you own soon.”

A man wearing a silver mask appeared after rolling down the car window. His icy gaze landed on Su Su as he asked, “What now? Do you regret doing it?”
Su Su clenched her fists and shook her head firmly. “No, I don’t. I only hope that you can ensure my parents live a comfortable and peaceful life after I die.”
The man smirked and reached out his hand to raise her chin with his slender fingers. He flashed a smile and said, “You’re a ruthless girl. You are a diamond in the rough if you are willing to follow me. Unfortunately, you have not much time left to live.”
Su Su could not help but shudder. She looked away and avoided his gaze.
The man chuckled. “You can go now!”
“J, can I see your face?” Su Su paused and stared at J with interest. J was surprised to hear that. With a smile that did not reach his eyes, he said, “Do you know what happens to the people who see my face in the end?”
As Su Su looked at J in confusion, J smirked and said, “They die.”
Su Su froze. She pursed her lips and uttered, “But I’m dying soon!”
“Then come and see my face after you die!”
The man got down from his car and stared at Su Su. “Remember what I said. Leave Jiang City now, or I can’t guarantee your parents’ safety!”
His words were obviously a threat to her. Although Su Su had only known J for some time, she knew his ways of getting things done were not worse compared to Fu Chengyan.
“Okay!”
J retracted his gaze after watching Su Su leave. “Ying.”
A black figure suddenly appeared in front of J. “Mr. J.”
J stared at Ying and hinted at him with a meaningful gaze. Ying understood what he wanted instantly. “Yes, Mr. J.”
Ying disappeared in a split second. J tidied his cufflink before striding over to the villa at the seaside.
Shi Wei remained seated on the ground in a daze. She kept recalling the words said by Su Su not long ago. She did not believe Su Su would do that to her. However, the truth was right in front of her eyes. She thought that Shi Wei felt so unfamiliar to her at that instant.
Right then, a black shadow loomed over her. Shi Wei raised her head and looked at the black shadow and the man wearing a silver mask in shock.
Petrified, she moved backward. “W-Who are you?”
J looked down at Shi Wei and his gaze fell upon her face. “Someone who can help you!”
“Help me?”
“Look at you now. Don’t you want to take revenge on the people who have harmed you, bullied you, and set you up? I’m here to help you send them to hell!”
His voice was alluring. Shi Wei swallowed a lump in her throat and rose to her feet. “Can you really help me?”
“Yes!”
“Why do you want to help me?” Shi Wei looked at that man warily. “We are not related.” She did not believe that someone would help her for nothing.
The man stared at her intently. “Because we have a common enemy!”
Su Su died, and her corpse was found in the sea beside Shi Wei’s villa. Someone had broken her neck. She had a menacing expression and looked awful when they found her body under the sea. Her whole body was swollen and ruined beyond recognition at that time. There was also a knife stabbed into her heart. It seemed that someone had stabbed her after she died.
Naturally, Shi Wei became the biggest suspect since the place Su Su’s body was found was close to her villa. However, Shi Wei was nowhere to be found when the police officers arrived at her villa.
The police officers had surrounded the Shi residence early in the morning and brought Shi Jingzheng and Jiang Yu back to the police station to interrogate them. The Shi family was in a mess, and the news reported that Huancheng had lost money long ago. “What about her parents?” Fu Chengyan closed the file. He thought that things were not as simple as they seemed.
It was too much of a coincidence. Before he could do something to Shi Wei, something terrible had happened to her. And just as he ordered someone to find Su Su, she was found dead close to Shi Wei’s mansion. Even before he could save the Shi family and Huancheng, the Shi family had broken up, and the news had reported about Huancheng being in the red. Someone had made their move before he could do anything.
“They’ve gone overseas. They left the country one night before Su Su’s body was found.”
Fu Chengyan’s brows furrowed tightly together. “Find out who Su Su had met with recently.”
