Chapter 507 The Truth That Broke Shi Wei
Shi Nuan had been unhappy since she returned from Shi Yunsheng’s place. When Fu Chengyan returned home, he found Shi Nuan looking at something. Not knowing what it was, he went closer and realized that Shi Nuan was actually looking at Huancheng’s financial report. He could not help but feel surprised. “Why are you looking at this?”
Shi Nuan pouted. “Ever since I gave you Huancheng’s shares, I’ve never asked about it. I’m not worried that you would do anything to the Shi family,” Shi Nuan said with a sigh. “However, Granddad said something today that made me feel uneasy. Yan, is Huancheng in trouble?”
Fu Chengyan narrowed his eyes and reached over to caress her hair. “What are you worried about?”
“Granddad said that handing Huancheng to Dad is the cause of its downfall. Huancheng…” Shi Nuan paused. “Tell me honestly. Is Huancheng really in trouble?”
“Yes.” Fu Chengyan looked into Shi Nuan’s eyes and nodded. He reached out, picked Shi Nuan up, and then placed her on his lap. He squeezed her waist and could not help but frown. “Did you lose weight again?”
“Don’t change the topic.” Shi Nuan slapped away Fu Chengyan’s hand. “What’s going on in Huancheng?”
“Shi Jingzheng was too eager for success. Huancheng’s situation has been declining over the past few years. Shi Jingzheng also purchased several projects previously, which caused problems in the cash flow. These problems are still present now.”
“Isn’t this the case with every company?”
“Yes, but it’s different if they can’t deal with the aftermath. Without returns on investment, even the biggest companies won’t be able to sustain themselves.” Fu Chengyan reached up and patted Shi Nuan’s shoulder, telling her to relax and not be nervous. “These problems aren’t obvious at first. Shi Nuan looked at Fu Chengyan solemnly when she heard that. “When did you find out about this?”
She did not believe that Fu Chengyan had only just found out about this situation. Based on his capabilities, he should have known about it long ago. It was likely that Huancheng was already an empty shell.
That was why Shi Jingzheng had wanted to cooperate with Shengyuan Group for a project. He probably wanted to get the funds from Shengyuan Group and direct it to Huancheng.
Shi Nuan looked at Fu Chengyan uncertainly, but she got her answer from the expression on his face.

“Every company has its own fate.” Fu Chengyan squeezed Shi Nuan’s hand. “I know what you’re worried about, but I don’t have any reason to save it, do I?”
“Yan, the company is the fruit of Granddad’s blood, sweat, and tears. I don’t want all of his hard work to go down the drain!”
Fu Chengyan sighed. He gently caressed Shi Nuan’s cheek. “You should know that I’m a businessman. I will only do profitable things.”
Shi Nuan’s eyes dimmed when she heard that, but they lit up again when she thought of an idea. She wrapped her arms around Fu Chengyan’s neck and kissed him. “What about this? Is this profitable?”
Fu Chengyan’s eyes flickered. He grabbed Shi Nuan’s waist tightly and pulled her into his embrace as though he wanted to merge their bodies together. “May, do you know what you’re doing?”
“Of course I do!” Shi Nuan smiled and gave him another kiss. “What can’t be solved with a kiss?” She giggled and rested her forehead against Fu Chengyan’s. “If one isn’t enough, I’ll give you two!”
A hint of surprise flashed across Fu Chengyan’s eyes, and he could not help but chuckle. He pinched Shi Nuan’s nose and exclaimed helplessly, “You!”
“Please?”
“Fine!” Fu Chengyan could not bear to disappoint Shi Nuan. “But you can’t interfere with what I do, understand?”
“Okay! As long as you can save Huancheng, I will support you no matter what.”
“Even if Huancheng belongs to someone else?” Fu Chengyan raised his eyebrows. Shi Nuan looked at Fu Chengyan suspiciously. “What do you mean?”
“What if Huancheng doesn’t belong to the Shi family?” Fu Chengyan tapped Shi Nuan’s lips. “What will you do?”
Shi Nuan lowered her eyes. “You’re going to acquire Huancheng? Well, that’s not impossible. If the current trend continues, Huancheng will undoubtedly become an empty shell. If you can acquire Huancheng before that happens, it will become a subsidiary under Shengyuan Group. But Granddad…”
Fu Chengyan took out a document from his briefcase and handed it to Shi Nuan. Shi Nuan was puzzled, but she still opened it to take a look. She saw the signature on the document, then looked at the content, which made her look at Fu Chengyan in shock. “This… Granddad… He—”
It was an equity transfer agreement for all of Shi Yunsheng’s shares. “When did he sign this? Why wasn’t I aware of it?”
“When Granddad was in the hospital.” Fu Chengyan picked Shi Nuan up and put away all the documents around her. He glanced at her helplessly. “Granddad already knew that Huancheng is an empty shell. That’s why he gave me this equity share agreement.”
Shi Nuan felt weak all over. “Granddad… He already knew about this? That’s why he gave it to you?”
It turned out that what Shi Yunsheng had told her was not a coincidence. They were said after careful consideration. “I don’t understand. I don’t have any blood relations with Granddad. Why is he giving Huancheng to me?” Shi Nuan had a good relationship with Shi Yunsheng, so the main problem was not the shares. She knew that Shi Jingzheng and Jiang Yu would have bad intentions once they found out about this.
“Silly girl, if not you, who else can he give it to?” Fu Chengyan shook his head lightly. “Shi Jingzheng doesn’t have what it takes to be a businessman. Instead of letting Huancheng fall under his hands, Granddad might as well give it to you and let Shengyuan Group manage it.”
Shi Nuan pursed her lips. “Actually, I—”
“Enough. Since you’ve already decided to save Huancheng, leave this matter to me, okay? Trust me.”
Shi Nuan nodded. “By the way, about Shi Wei…”
Although Shi Nuan did not know why that incident about Shi Wei broke out so suddenly, she was sure that it was not a coincidence. “Did you do it?”
Fu Chengyan raised his eyebrows and shook his head. “Not really.”
“Not really? What is that supposed to mean?” Shi Nuan was confused.
Fu Chengyan smiled. “Give me a moment.”
He went to his study to get some documents about the results obtained from the investigation and some information Su Su had given him. He handed them to Shi Nuan. “Take a look.”
Shi Nuan was puzzled. She opened it and saw that everything was recorded clearly. Not a single detail was left out. “Su Su gave this to you?”
“How did you know that it was her?” Fu Chengyan stroked her head gently. He was not surprised that Shi Nuan could figure out who it was.
“Shi Wei had two best friends, Anna and Su Su. Anna has not returned since she left the country due to that incident, so there’s only Su Su. Su Su used to get bullied because of Shi Wei. She was always beside Shi Wei, but every time Shi Wei wanted to frame me, Su Su would take action. I knew that something was going on between them.”
Fu Chengyan smiled. “Go on.”
“Su Su blamed everything on Shi Wei, so it’s not hard to guess that Su Su gave these to you. She understands Shi Wei best, after all. Did I guess it right?”
Fu Chengyan nodded. “But I wasn’t the one who exposed her.”
“It wasn’t you?” Shi Nuan was surprised. “These were in your hands. If it wasn’t you… then could it be Su Su?” Shi Nuan frowned. “What is she up to?”
At a villa by the sea, a beautifully dressed up Su Su appeared at the door and pressed the doorbell.
Soon after, the door opened. Shi Wei poked her head out and looked left and right. She only allowed Su Su to enter when she was sure that no one had followed the latter.
“What’s the situation?” Shi Wei asked as she looked at Su Su’s outfit. She could not help but frown. “Su Su, you’ve been—”
Su Su laughed at her words. She brushed past Shi Wei to turn on the television. “If you want to know, then see it for yourself!”
“D-Don’t turn it on!” Shi Wei ran over and snatched the remote control from Su Su’s hands. She finally managed to turn it off after a few tries. She glared at Su Su. “What is that supposed to mean? Also, where have you been? Why did you disappear after bringing me to Court Martins that day?” Shi Wei asked several questions in a row as she stared at Su Su.
However, Su Su merely laughed at her questions. She looked at the latter coldly and smiled. “Shi Wei, don’t you know what’s going on yet?”
“What do you mean?” Shi Wei looked at Su Su in disbelief. She had a bad feeling about her sudden change. She reached out to hold her hand but was shrugged off.
“What do I mean? It’s so obvious. Can’t you tell? Haha! Shi Wei, I was so careful about serving you, but your brain is full of trash.” Su Su looked at Shi Wei coldly. “What do I mean? Shi Wei, can’t you see? I’m taking revenge on you!”
“What did you say?” Shi Wei stared at Su Su in astonishment. “Y-You’re taking revenge on me? You… Court Martins… Y-You deliberately lured me to Court Martins, didn’t you? You let those people attack me to ruin my reputation?
T-Those reporters were also your doing?” Shi Wei suddenly regained her bearings and stared at Su Su with wide eyes. “Why? N-No. Why did you do that to me?” They were supposed to be best friends.
“Why can’t I treat you like that?” Su Su burst out laughing. “Because of your hatred toward Shi Nuan, you framed her and bullied me. I can still clearly remember what happened that night. Shi Wei, are you seriously asking me why? Can’t you tell?
I’m taking revenge on you! For how you treated me back then, I’m going to return it to you ten—no, a hundred times more so that you get a taste of your own medicine! Seriously, why? Haha! What a joke!”
