The man on the other end of the phone scoffed. He said, “What’s there to talk about? No. Who is Jasper anyway? Can he give us what we want? If he can’t, what’s the point in us establishing a connecting?”
Celine said, “Father, I think the family should invest in Jasper. If the previous Jasper was not enough to get the family’s attention, then the current Jasper is enough to be known by any of the ancient families throughout the world.”
“Even for the Maynards, it is a very cost effective investment for us to make early on. It would be wise to make some deals with him now, even if they do not seem to be of any particular benefit at this moment.”
The man on the other end of the phone was silent for a while before he said, “Celine, you have to know that there are no trivial matters in the family. If you give me such a suggestion as my daughter, I will not accept it, but if you formally suggest to the family as the sixth generation of the Maynards, I will consider it in accordance to the rules.”
“As a family member, I submit a formal proposal to the family. Jasper Laine is worth the family’s investment at this early stage,” Celine said firmly.
“Reason?” The man on the other end said flatly without any emotion.
“A year ago, Jasper was just a nobody in a small county in Somerland. It would be impossible for him to get in contact with me, let alone the family. Half a year ago, Jasper became already one of the richest man in Somerland. Most importantly, all his industries are high-value and high-return industries targeting future technologies.”
“From his involved industries alone, I can see his ambition. What he wants to capture is not just the profit of a certain industry, but society as a whole. He wants to build a real social ecosystem. Sena in the game industry, Terizone in the social industry, Abbylon in the e-commerce industry, as well as the real estate industry, and the film and entertainment industry. These assets are all industries which hold the most investment value in the new century. Neither the Maynards nor Colossal Investments can deny this.”
“Give him another ten years. In the future, it is not a hyperbole to say that the whole of Somerland society might be unable to function without him.”
“On the other hand, he has crashed the United State stock market with his own power. No matter how many coincidences have taken place, and regardless of he is opportunistic or not, facts are facts. The Maynards’ ancestral motto is to seek truth from facts, and no one can deny that.”
After she said this, Celine took a breath and said in an unprecedented solemn tone, “Father, as the fifth generation head of the Maynards, you can’t let the family miss the chance to get in contact with someone who might potential dominate Somerland and control the resources of its society in the next ten years because of your arrogance.”
“Based on my judgment, the future of the world depends on Somerland, and the future of Somerland belongs to Jasper.”
After Celine said her last sentence, it was obvious that Celine was regarding Jasper with unparalleled awe, causing the man on the phone to breath heavily.
“You are that optimistic about him? Celine, you have to know that you are now speaking to the Maynards’ patriarch as a member of the Maynards, not as a daughter to her father.”
“If we were talking as the latter, you can talk casually, but in the former, you are responsible for every word you say,” the man on the phone said in a deep voice.
Celine gave a wry smile and said, “Father, between us, have there ever been casual chats between a father and a daughter?”
The other end of the phone was silent for a moment. Meanwhile, Celine obviously did not want to continue this topic. She said, “Father, in the comprehensive quality evaluation of the young generation the family holds every eight years, my macroscopic policy theory won three consecutive times.”
“So I think the family has reasons to take my remarks seriously. If necessary, I can submit a formal proposal to the third generation elders of the family under my name.”
