Chapter 571 Have A Baby
Although Huo Ling’s statement was cryptic, Fu Chengyan and Su Shaoqing managed to pick up on her meaning. Li Heng had been quite anxious at the time, so he had practically dragged Huo Ling away. Huo Shenxing might not be as easy to get along with as Huo Ling, even if the latter had a good relationship with them.
According to rumors, Huo Shenxing’s whereabouts were frequently shrouded in mystery, and his personality was actually quite bad. Hence, if they wanted him to save someone, everything had to work in their favor. The most important factor was his mood.
He would not save anyone if he was unhappy, regardless of who the other party was.

In the meantime, Shi Nuan looked at Pei Huan in surprise. “When did Bao become Huo Ling’s disciple?”

Immediately, Shi Nuan took the grapes and put them into her mouth contentedly. Hearing Pei Huan’s question, she could not help but smile brightly. With a gentle grin on her face, she replied, “Yes. I felt fetal movement a few days ago.”
“Really?” Pei Huan was excited to hear that. “This proves that the baby is healthy. It was the same for me when I was pregnant with Bao. He would kick around in my stomach, and sometimes he would get so naughty that I couldn’t get any sleep at night.”
She said it with a big smile and a happy expression on her face. On the contrary, Li Heng, who was next to her, lowered his head and frowned, clearly upset by her words.
While Pei Huan was conversing and laughing with Shi Nuan, she suddenly felt the grim mood the person beside her was in. Hence, she turned around to face Li Heng and inquired, “What’s wrong?” His brows were deeply furrowed, and she could tell he was in a bad mood at a glance.
However, after a brief reflection, she could not figure out why he had suddenly become unhappy.
Little did she know that it was because he was saddened by her sharing her pregnancy experiences with Shi Nuan.

Even though they had reconciled and were making amends, some things had happened, and they could never make up for them. On the way back, Song Zhe drove the car, while Huo Ling sat in the front seat with Bao in her lap. The two of them continued to play around and seemed to be having a lot of fun.
Meanwhile, Pei Huan and Li Heng were seated in the backseat. She could clearly sense that his mood was unstable, so she reached out and placed her hand on the back of his. Li Heng, who had been silent the entire time, lifted his head and raised his eyebrows slightly in response to her curious gaze. “What’s the matter?”
Twitching the corners of her lips, she placed her hands on his face and pinched his cheeks before pulling the corners of his lips. “I’m the one who wants to know what’s wrong with you. What were you thinking just now? You seem to be in a foul mood.”

“Why? Are you afraid that you can’t afford to support us?” she asked, her lips curving upward.
“Of course not. No matter how many children you want, I can afford to raise all of them.” Li Heng pulled Pei Huan into his embrace. “It’s just that I heard giving birth is extremely painful. Did it hurt when you gave birth to Bao? Just now, you even said that he would kick you so many times that you couldn’t get any sleep at night.”
There was a hint of grievance and jealousy in his tone.
Listening to that, Pei Huan smiled. “Although I had a difficult time and giving birth was painful, I was more than willing to go through it for you and Bao.” With that said, she nuzzled up against him and interlocked her fingers with his. “Heng, I know you’re still kicking yourself for missing out on those few years with us, but I’m by your side now, and I promise I’ll never leave you again.”
Hugging her tightly, he rested his chin on top of her head and took a deep breath. In an instant, the fragrance of her hair filled his nose.
“Okay.”
In the meantime, Huo Ling listened to their chat and stared at the little boy in her arms with envy. This little boy embodies the best qualities of both my prince charming and goddess!
At that thought, her face lit up with delight. Subsequently, she poked Bao’s small head and uttered, “Your parents are going to give birth to a younger brother for you.”

Even Huo Ling felt that she had said something wrong. Did I just ruin one of the most important events in my prince charming and goddess’ lives?
While she was deep in thought, she heard Bao say, “You only need one son. I don’t want a younger brother. I want a younger sister, an adorable little sister.”
Startled, Pei Huan blinked several times, and the moment she saw her son’s solemn expression, she almost burst into laughter. “Bao, you aren’t fond of having a younger brother?”
“I prefer younger sisters. Mommy, can you and Daddy give birth to a baby girl? If I have a younger sister, I’ll definitely treat her well!”
Then, he tilted his head, as if he was seriously considering something. “I’m going to save up a lot of money and buy her skirts and dolls. I’ll buy her everything she loves, okay?”
“Okay. You can do whatever you want.” A smile crept onto Pei Huan’s face as she caressed Bao’s small head dotingly. “As long as you like it.”
Having said that, she exchanged glances with Li Heng and smiled. Both of them breathed a sigh of relief.
In actuality, they did not mind what gender the baby was as long as it was theirs, but if Bao liked girls, she would not mind having a baby girl.
Hearing that, Bao clapped his hands, his face beaming with joy. “Yes! Then, I’ll have a younger sister in the future. Wait, Aunt also has two babies in her tummy. Does that mean I’ll be the oldest brother in the future?”
