Chapter 544 I Am Not Fooling Around
When J noticed Shen Qianan had woken up, she was looking at him coldly. There was no hint of affection in his eyes. It was as if Shen Qianan did not know who he was. If it were not for that glimmer of hatred in Shen Qianan’s eyes, J would have thought that she did not know who he was.
“Qian!” J called out. “Keep quiet!” Shen Qianan shouted, interrupting his sentence. “You’re not worthy enough to call me by my name.” J furrowed his eyebrows. His eyes were fixed on Shen Qianan from under the mask.
It was an undeniable fact that Shi Nuan and Shen Qianan looked exactly alike. J nearly thought that he had seen Shen Qianan when it was actually Shi Nuan. If it were not for the stark difference in their personalities, he might have actually gotten the wrong person.
Shi Nuan was too calm. She was just like that person, calm and collected. However, Shen Qianan was different. Although she was older than Shi Nuan, she was not as calm as Shi Nuan was. Even if Shi Nuan was afraid, she was still able to keep her cool in front of him.
Therefore, J was able to clearly differentiate both of them. Shen Qianan was a timid person, which contrasted with her personality.
When J looked at Shen Qianan, he could not stop himself from reaching out to her. However, before his hand could get any closer, Shen Qianan slapped him away with great force. She coldly looked at the man in front of her. The man had already left her anyway. Why was he back again?
Shen Qianan was envious of Shi Nuan. Not only because Shi Nuan managed to get Fu Chengyan’s love, but Shen Qianan was also jealous of how fearless Shi Nuan and Fu Chengyan’s love was. They did not care about what others thought at all. But what about her?
This man was not a ray of sunshine. Did she love him?
No. In fact, she hated him. If it were not for him, Shen Qianan might probably still be in love with Fu Chengyan. Even if Fu Chengyan did not reciprocate her feelings, at least she could find some self-worth from him. However, in front of J, Shen Qianan felt that her world was desolate. There was nothing at all.
J noticed that there was hatred and coldness in Shen Qianan’s eyes. She did not look at him that way four years ago.
Back then, even when Shen Qianan was terrified and hated him, it was not as strong as it was now.
“Qian!”
“Shut up, Fu Sijue!”
Fu Sijue’s hands paused in mid-air. His eyes glinted with a hint of coldness.
His hands remained hovered in mid-air. Shen Qianan was not able to see his expression underneath the mask, but she was able to detect the sudden coldness that radiated off Fu Sijue.
Shen Qianan shrank back instinctively. This small motion did not go undetected by Fu Sijue, for he instantly furrowed his eyebrows. “Are you afraid of me?” he asked with a fierce look.
Fu Sijue’s question was responded with a scoff. “Afraid? Why should I be afraid of you?” Shen Qianan sneered.
Fu Sijue’s lips twitched into a smirk. “Good.” He reached out, and before Shen Qianan could smack his hand away again, he quickly grabbed her hand.
Fu Sijue’s fingers were cold. Shen Qianan could not seem to find the words to describe what kind of coldness it was. Her hands were covered by his. Shen Qianan was about to pull her hand away but Fu Sijue tightened his grip. “I know you miss me, Qian.”
“Miss you? Don’t be crazy, Fu Sijue. Who would ever miss a kidnapper, moreover a harasser?” Shen Qianan exclaimed furiously.
Her voice made Fu Sijue’s eyes darken once more. “Kidnapper? Harasser?” His low voice had a hint of mirth. He poked Shen Qianan’s face and chuckled. “I know you miss me, Shen Qianan. Otherwise, you wouldn’t have returned to the country, right?”
However, Shen Qianan trembled because of Fu Sijue’s words. She tried to push him away, but alas, he was too strong. Shen Qianan could not even free herself. “Let me go, you crazy man! Pervert! Let me go right now!” Shen Qianan kept struggling. She was about to hit him with her other hand but was quickly caught by Fu Sijue.
Fu Sijue pulled her into his embrace. His icy cold aura instantly surrounded Shen Qianan. She shuddered uncontrollably but Fu Sijue brought her even closer. “You’re still the same as before even after so many years.”
Shen Qianan could feel her entire body shaking. She wanted to push him away, but she could not muster up a single ounce of strength.
Fu Sijue held Shen Qianan in his arms. His sharp chin was exposed as he kissed Shen Qianan on the cheek. “I’ve missed you too, Qian,” he said with a smile.
Shen Qianan instantly lifted her head. Her surprised gaze met with Fu Sijue’s dark ones.
His eyes were slightly different from Fu Chengyan’s. When Fu Chengyan looked at her, his eyes were always cold and void of emotions. Shen Qianan always felt like she was looking at a block of ice instead.
However, Fu Sijue was different. Although his eyes were as dark as Fu Chengyan’s, Fu Sijue’s gaze was gentle. His eyes sparkled like the stars in the night sky. One could easily get lost in them for years.
Shen Qianan stilled and looked at Fu Sijue. His long arm wrapped around her back and brought her into a hug. His other hand softly stroked her face. Shen Qianan was trembling slightly and wanted to avoid his touch, but Fu Sijue did not allow her to. “How did you know my name?” He hummed as he gently bit Shen Qianan’s ear. She shivered. “Stop being like this!” she exclaimed.
Instead, Fu Sijue smiled underneath the mask. He gently kissed Shen Qianan on her cheek. “Are you hungry?”
Shen Qianan was about to deny it when her stomach rumbled at that instant. Her face reddened while Fu Sijue’s smile widened. He lightly touched Shen Qianan’s face and said, “Be good and get changed. Let’s head downstairs for food.”
“I don’t want to!” Shen Qianan pushed him away. This time, however, Fu Sijue did not force her but his smile fell slightly. “Stop fooling around!” he said.
“I’m not fooling around, Fu Sijue. What are you trying to do?” Shen Qianan could not stand him acting this way any longer. She really did not know what this man was trying to do.
If this happened before she knew of both her and Shi Nuan’s identities, Shen Qianan probably would not have cared about this. However, once she knew that Shi Nuan was her biological sister, Shen Qianan could not turn a blind eye anymore.
“What are you planning to do? Nuan did nothing to you! Why are you treating her this way?” Shen Qianan took a deep breath as her hands curled into fists. “Do you know that she’s pregnant?”
“So what?” Fu Sijue’s eyes turned cold when Shen Qianan mentioned Shi Nuan. “What does that have to do with me?”
“Are you even human, Fu Sijue? She’s an innocent pregnant lady. She doesn’t even know you! Why would you treat a stranger, who’s pregnant, this way?” Shen Qianan thought that Fu Sijue was cold-blooded.
“Is it just because of the rivalry between you and Fu Chengyan? But you have already kidnapped me to get revenge on him four years ago. Is that not enough? How dare you treat women this way. I despise you, Fu Sijue!” she exclaimed in fury.
“You despise me?” Fu Sijue laughed instead. He peered down at Shen Qianan, who was still on the bed. He reached out and touched her chin, tilting her head upward. “There are no innocent people on this Earth, right?” Fu Sijue replied as he stared at Shen Qianan.
“Let go of me!” Shen Qianan turned her head away. “That’s only because you’re a black-hearted person! There is no bad blood between you and Nuan. Pei Huan and Bao are also innocent! Why are you targeting them? Fu Sijue, even if you have a grudge against Fu Chengyan, you should target the Fu family or deal with Fu Chengyan instead!”
Fu Sijue narrowed his eyes. He retracted his arm as he stared at her chin where his fingers once were. “All right. I’ll deal with the Fu clan. Enjoy the show then.”
“Are you crazy, Fu Sijue? What did the Fu clan even do to you? Aren’t you from the same family too?” Shen Qianan had no idea why Fu Sijue would want to go to such lengths. Therefore, she wanted to trick Fu Sijue into explaining his motives. However, Fu Sijue misunderstood her words.
“Are you worried about Fu Chengyan?” he asked.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Shen Qianan glared at Fu Chengyan. “This has nothing to do with him!”
“What do you mean? Don’t you love him? Didn’t you want to marry him?” Fu Sijue snorted. “But Fu Chengyan married Shi Nuan. I’m actually doing you a favor. Once Shi Nuan’s virus spreads, there will no longer be an obstacle for you. Isn’t that great? I’m granting you your wish!”
“You’re crazy, Fu Sijue. Shi Nuan is my sister!” Shen Qianan shouted at him, nearly screaming her lungs out. “I don’t care how you want to go against the Fu clan or Fu Chengyan. Shi Nuan is innocent. Give me the antidote now!”
Shen Qianan extended her arm out as she glared at Fu Sijue. Unfortunately, Fu Sijue only glanced at her coldly. “There is no antidote for the virus. There is only one outcome for those who have been infected, and that is to die. It only depends on her luck now. She might only have a few days or a few months. If she’s lucky, she might stay alive for the rest of her life.”
Fu Sijue scoffed. “So what if she’s your sister? Don’t forget that it was her who stole the man you loved. At your lowest, it was she who stayed by Fu Chengyan. Don’t you hate her?”
“I hate you!” Shen Qianan stared at Fu Sijue coldly. “You must have not known what it feels like to be loved. That’s why you are simply speculating about my relationship with Shi Nuan with that view of yours. We are biological sisters. I am not going to watch her die. Give me the antidote!”
Shen Qianan did not believe that Fu Sijue did not have the antidote. However, he only looked at her coldly. “I said, I don’t have it.”
She bit her lip as she looked at Fu Sijue with ferocity. The man in front of her was as cold and heartless as he was four years ago. He still thought so lightly of human lives. He still viewed it so indifferently.
Shen Qianan thought that she must have gone blind and her heart had been eaten by wolves all those years ago. Otherwise, how could she have fallen in love with such a man? “I’m telling you one last chance, Fu Sijue. Give me the antidote!” she shouted.
“I don’t have it!”
Shen Qianan looked at Fu Sijue. She suddenly started laughing. “Is that so?”
Fu Sijue furrowed his eyebrows. “What are you laughing at?”
“Is there really no antidote?” Shen Qianan raised her arm and wiped her tears away. With red eyes, she continued, “What should I do, then? I have been injected with the same virus that Nuan has.”
