Chapter 541 Itching For A Fight
Upon hearing the remarks, Shen Qianan smiled. “That’s right!” If Fu Chengyan can be this good to Shi Nuan, he will be good to the child too! However, she never thought that he would do so much for Shi Nuan. Su Shaoqing withdrew his gaze nonchalantly. “Let’s go inside!”
The slight commotion outside had attracted the attention of the people inside the room. When Shi Nuan lifted her head, she saw Shen Qianan standing at the door. At the same time, Yu saw Shen Qianan as well. “Mommy!” Quickly, he climbed down Shi Nuan’s body and hopped toward Shen Qianan. “Be careful!” Fu Chengyan said as he quickly held on to Yu.
“Is everything okay?” His question was directed at Su Shaoqing. With a nod, Su Shaoqing replied, “It’s done. We should be able to get the results tomorrow morning.” Then, he paused for a while before turning to Shi Nuan and said, “Nuan, I still need you to do a body check-up.” As soon as he finished, a young nurse pushing a cart entered the room. He then took a syringe deftly before giving Shi Nuan a brief glance.
Shi Nuan nodded. Barely batting an eyelid, she extended her arm forward. Her action made him laugh. “Somehow, I can’t bear to do it after seeing your expression.”
“Cut the nonsense. Make it quick!” Fu Chengyan glared at Su Shaoqing impatiently. The latter raised his eyebrow and said, “Fine. I will make it faster!”
“Aunt Nuan, I’m scared!” As Yu watched Su Shaoqing taking the syringe and wanting to inject Shi Nuan, he was so shocked that he quickly closed his eyes with his hand.
Shen Qianan was worried that Yu would be frightened by the scene. Thus, she quickly took him out of the room.
When they were at the door, they bumped into Pei Huan and Bao. At first, Shen Qianan was stunned. She regained her senses quickly and gave a slight nod to Pei Huan. Pei Huan nodded back. Her gaze directed at the boy who was in Shen Qianan’s arms, and she asked, “Yours?”
Shen Qianan answered by nodding her head. Then, she said, “Yu, come and greet the lady.”
“Hello, madam.”
Pei Huan smiled and nodded. “Hello, Yu!”
After the formalities ended, Shen Qianan turned to look at Bao and questioned, “Who is this?”
“My son. His name is Bao.” While Pei Huan was talking, Li Heng appeared from behind her. Walking calmly and steadily, his movements were slow and unhurried.
Shen Qianan could not help but cower a little upon seeing Li Heng. Nevertheless, she proceeded to nod her head at Li Heng and greeted him. “Hello, Li Heng!”
He nodded back in acknowledgment. Then, he looked at Yu and narrowed his eyes suddenly. He asked Shen Qianan, “Well, are you in the hospital to visit Shi Nuan?”
Shen Qianan answered with a nod. “Are you here with Huan to see Nuan as well?”
Upon hearing the question, Pei Huan smiled. “You’re right. I’m here to see Nuan. Why are you coming out here?”
“Yu is afraid to see Nuan inside having her blood drawn,” Shen Qianan explained. Meanwhile, she had her eyes directed at Pei Huan and Bao.
Naturally, Pei Huan and Bao did not know the reason for Shen Qianan’s scrutinizing gaze on them. They did not know that Shen Qianan was in a dilemma at that moment.
She had known in advance that Pei Huan was a member of the Fu family. Later on, the Fu family had taken Pei Huan back and acknowledged her as their daughter. Hence, they had known each other a long time ago. Nevertheless, she had never expected that Shi Nuan would be injected with a virus by a person three years ago. It so happened that the virus had been in Shi Nuan’s body for three whole years. The instigator of the whole incident was probably the same man who had kidnapped her before. It was possible that Jue was behind it.
Upon noticing Shen Qianan’s weird behavior, Pei Huan asked, “What’s the matter? Are you not feeling well?”
Shen Qianan shook her head. “No. I want to take Yu to go for a walk.”
“Okay.”
Pei Huan looked at Shen Qianan’s retreating back curiously. She then gave a slight frown. No one knew what she was thinking about, but they could feel that she was confused.
A broad hand was laid softly on her shoulder. Li Heng looked at Pei Huan and realized that she was staring at Shen Qianan’s retreating back. “What’s the matter?”
Shaking her head, she said, “Nothing.” But I can feel that there’s something odd about Shen Qianan. Afterward, she added, “Let’s go. We should go inside to see Nuan.”
“Yes.” Li Heng nodded. After seeing Pei Huan take Bao’s hand and enter the room, he turned his gaze in the direction Shen Qianan had disappeared to. After a long time, he averted his gaze and followed them into the room.
Meanwhile, Su Shaoqing had finished drawing the blood sample from Shi Nuan. Noticing that her face was slightly pale, he said, “Lie on the bed for a while. Do you want to eat some coconut candy?” When he took out some coconut candies from his pocket and offered it to her, he was stopped mid-air by Fu Chengyan. “This looks filthy. How dare you give it to Nuan?”
“Hey! Who are you calling dirty? How can it be dirty here?” Su Shaoqing was not pleased to see Fu Chengyan on high alert and scrutinizing his every movement. “Look at you being all melodramatic. I had offered Qianan the candy before when she had her blood taken. She didn’t think that the candy was dirty!”
Fu Chengyan narrowed his eyes. “It’s too dirty.”
Having heard the remark, Su Shaoqing pulled his sleeve up and prepared himself to have a fight with Fu Chengyan. “Oh, come on! You…”
On the other hand, Fu Chengyan merely raised his eyebrow. It was obvious that he did not take Su Shaoqing seriously. Then, he asked, “Are you sure you want to fight against me in here?”
“Of course! I’m going to have a fight with you here. I’m itching for a fight. As Nuan is my sister, by that definition I’m your brother-in-law. How dare you treat me this way?”
Snorting lightly, Fu Chengyan said, “I won’t fight against you.”
Raising his eyebrows, Su Shaoqing started to provoke him. “Are you afraid of me? I can see that you’re frightened.”
“You’re right. I am afraid. But I’m afraid that you will lose your dignity.” The disdainful look in Fu Chengyan’s eyes was clear for everyone to see.
“I can’t stand this any longer!” Pulling his sleeves up, Su Shaoqing started to push against Fu Chengyan. Nevertheless, he was stopped by Li Heng.
Unfazed, he gave Su Shaoqing a look and said, “Shaoqing, be calm!”
“How can I be calm now? The rascal has been bullying me. Hang on. You and Pei Huan as well…” Su Shaoqing wanted to continue his remark, but he was stopped by Li Heng’s cold glare. “Don’t you have anything to do in your hospital?”
“There’s nothing to do. I’m way too free right now!” When the matter was brought up, Su Shaoqing was very frustrated. Then, he continued, “Just look at you. What’s so impressive about your wife getting sick and staying in the hospital? Why are you driving all my patients away? The rooms are empty because of you. What do you want to do? Do you know how much the hospital’s daily income is?”
As soon as he finished, he turned toward Fu Chengyan and said with disappointment, “Look at yourself! I have sacrificed a lot for you. But look at the way you have repaid me! You’re trying to bully me. I’m your brother-in-law, for goodness sake!”
Fu Chengyan rubbed his temples before continuing, “Why are you behaving so dramatically these days?”
Su Shaoqing was stunned. The others in the room chuckled. Meanwhile, Shi Nuan burst into laughter.
Upon seeing Shi Nuan laughing uncontrollably, a blush crept on Su Shaoqing’s handsome face. “Little brat, how can you laugh at your brother in such a way?”
With a smirk, Shi Nuan responded, “I just can.”
Su Shaoqing glared at her upon hearing her answer.
Pei Huan thought that it was funny as well. “Stop it. It’s rare for Heng and me to come and visit Nuan.” Then, she took Bao’s hand and approached Shi Nuan. “Nuan, how do you feel these days?”
“I’m fine. I don’t feel anything.” Shi Nuan smiled. She lifted her hand and caressed Bao’s hair lightly. “Long time no see, Bao!”
“Hello, Aunt!” Bao lifted his head up and smiled brightly at Shi Nuan.
She nodded and smiled. Pei Huan suddenly recalled something and looked at her. “Nuan, I saw Shen Qianan in here just now. What was she doing?”
“Well, she was here to see me.” Shi Nuan asked them to sit next to her. Li Heng, meanwhile, dragged Su Shaoqing and Fu Chengyan out of the room. Pei Huan was relieved to see them left. Then, Bao and she started to chat with Shi Nuan. “Does Shen Qianan know about your situation?”
Shi Nuan nodded. “Yes. She’s here today not just to see me.”
Pei Huan understood it at once. Then, her gaze shifted onto Shi Nuan’s stomach. There was a complicated look on her face.
Knowing very well what Pei Huan was thinking about, Shi Nuan smiled. “Actually, I’m not really worried. Look at you. It’s been three years and everything is well.”
Upon hearing it, Pei Huan’s face darkened. She did not dare to tell Shi Nuan that it was true she did not get sick. Nevertheless, she was fine because the virus was not activated. On the other hand, it was obvious that Shi Nuan had triggered the activation of the virus. It was the reason why she had gotten sick so soon.
“You’re right. It means everything is well. I can see that Chengyan is worried, which is why he wants you to stay in the hospital. If that’s the case, you should use the opportunity to extort him for money.”
Shi Nuan chuckled. “If Yan knew that you said that to me, I’m afraid that he will be unhappy about it.”
Lifting her head haughtily, Pei Huan said, “Why should I be afraid of him? I have someone backing me up these days. Thus, I’m not scared of him!”
After seeing her reaction, Shi Nuan knew that the matter with Li Heng had been finally solved. “Wait a minute. You went overseas with Li Heng. Where did you go?”
Pei Huan was shy. “We didn’t go anywhere specific. Just took a walk around. Heng thought that we didn’t spend much time together. Thus, he wanted to replace all the time that we’ve lost. So we went to the place that Bao and I had stayed before.”
Shi Nuan merely smiled and nodded. It was because she was tired from sitting too long. When Pei Huan saw it, she quickly helped Shi Nuan to lie on the bed. “Do you want to eat anything? How about an apple? Let me peel some for you.”
Meanwhile, after dragging Fu Chengyan and Su Shaoqing out of the room, Li Heng took them straight to Su Shaoqing’s office. Then, with a calm voice, he said, “I need to go overseas tomorrow.” Subsequently, his gaze shifted to Fu Chengyan. He paused for a while before continuing, “You need to arrange for someone to watch over Huan and Bao!”
Fu Chengyan frowned upon hearing it. “Why do you need to go overseas?”
“There’s news coming from Frosa. They said Ghost Doctor has appeared. I need to go there personally to check whether it’s true.” Li Heng knew how important the matter was to them. Moreover, Ghost Doctor was not an ordinary man. Just a look at his subordinates and Li Heng was afraid that they would not be able to handle Ghost Doctor.
As for now, not only would his appearance influence the safety of Shi Nuan and the baby in her belly, but it would also affect Pei Huan and Bao.
“As he is targetting the Fu clan, it’s no longer about Shi Nuan anymore. I’m worried that he will do something bad to Huan and Bao!” Li Heng had been keeping Pei Huan and Bao at his side all this while. Thus, it was not a surprise that the people could not find any opportunity to do something bad to Pei Huan and Bao. Just in case the people find Pei Huan and Bao while I’m staying overseas, what can I do when they want to do something bad to them?
“All right!” Fu Chengyan knew that he was not the only one who was worried at that time. He realized that Li Heng was worried as well. Pei Huan was a member of the Fu family. Three to four years ago, she was the man’s target. Thus, everything that he had been doing could possibly be in the enemy’s plan. “Don’t worry. Rest assured. Huan is my sister. I will never let something happen to her!”
