Shi Wei pursed her lips and replied, “That makes sense! No matter how much Grandfather likes Shi Nuan, there’s no way he would give his stuff to an outsider. Unless…”
“Unless your grandfather has been the one behind it in the first place?” Su Su asked. Shi Wei found Su Su’s words to be believable, so she said, “I’ll go back and ask for a clarification!”
“Hey, wait!” Su Su grabbed Shi Wei’s hand and continued, “You should be careful about this matter. You don’t want to let other people know about it too!”
Shi Wei nodded and replied, “You’re right. I should get my facts straight first. If Grandfather really knows about it, he has to give it to me. I’m the only legal heir of the Shi family. That Shi Nuan isn’t even part of the Shi family, so why should she take what belongs to the Shi family?”
Shi Wei did not return directly to the Fu residence. Instead, she went to the Shi residence. There were only a handful of people who were currently in the Shi residence. Shi Jingzheng and Jiang Yu had gone out, leaving only the butler and Shi Yunsheng at home.
The other housekeepers were downstairs. After asking the housekeepers, Shi Wei immediately went upstairs.
The butler was leaving the study when he bumped into Shi Wei. “Ms. Wei!”
Shi Wei was cold toward the butler as she sneered, “Where’s Grandfather?”
“Master is writing calligraphy in the study. Ms. Wei, if you don’t have anything urgent, I suggest you better not disturb Master and let him rest!”
“Move aside!” Shi Wei glared at the butler. “Since when do I have to listen to a servant’s useless opinions before I do things?”
“You…” Although the butler works for the Shi family, Shi Yunsheng never treated him as a servant, let alone yelled at him. However, Jiang Yu and Shi Wei had always been mean to the butler. It was not just once or twice, but a few times.
The butler took a deep breath and said, “I’m just reminding you, Ms. Wei!”
Shi Wei sneered before she walked past the butler and opened the door to the study.
The butler glanced toward Shi Yunsheng, who just so happened to lift his head. Seeing Shi Wei’s behavior, he could not help but frown. Despite that, he waved his hand at the butler, signaling him to leave them alone.
“Grandfather!” Shi Wei noticed that Shi Yunsheng was writing, so she approached him and called, “Grandfather!”
Shi Yunsheng nodded and asked, “Hmm? Is something wrong?”
“Yes!”
“What is it?”
“It’s about Shi Nuan, Grandfather. She’s no longer a member of the Shi family now, so shouldn’t you take back all the shares you previously gave her?”
Shi Yunsheng paused in his writing and lifted his head to look at Shi Wei. “You came all the way here to ask me about this?”
“That’s right, Grandfather. Shi Nuan is not a part of the Shi family anymore, so she has no reason to take what’s ours!” Shi Wei looked at Shi Yunsheng. “Grandfather, I’m talking to you!”
“Since you’ve asked me about it, let me tell you something. I have no intention of taking back what I’ve given Nuan!” Shi Yunsheng put down his pen and looked seriously at Shi Wei. “I know your mother instilled those thoughts in your head since you were a child, and that made you hate Nuan. But Wei, Nuan will always be your sister no matter what,” Shi Yunsheng continued.
“She’s not! Mom only gave birth to me, so I’m the only daughter of the Shi family. Shi Nuan is a nobody!” Shi Wei could not help but interrupt Shi Yunsheng’s words as she continued, “Grandfather, you know that Shi Nuan isn’t a part of the Shi family, so why did you still give her the shares of Huancheng? You’d rather give it to an outsider and not me?”
“So that’s what you wanted? Shares? Didn’t your parents give them to you?” Shi Yunsheng’s expression turned cold when he heard Shi Wei’s words. “What’s wrong? Are you not satisfied?”
“It has nothing to do with whether or not I’m satisfied! Shi Nuan is just not qualified to have them!”
“She is if I want her to have them!” Shi Yunsheng slammed his hand on the desk forcefully and glared at her. “I don’t know what your mom taught you, but let me tell you something. You don’t get to do whatever you want here. If I’ve given something to Nuan, it’s hers! There’s no way for you to get it back!”

“How did you know that she sold them?” Shi Yunsheng caught on to Shi Wei’s slip of the tongue and asked, “Have you seen Nuan?”
Since Shi Yunsheng knew of the truth, Shi Wei no longer planned to hide it from him. “That’s right! I did look for her. I was going to return the photographs to her once she gave up the shares, but she said she sold them. She never cared about you or the Shi family!”
“I know she sold them off. She came to ask for my opinion on that matter!” Shi Yunsheng interrupted Shi Wei.
“Grandfather, are you even aware of what you’re saying?” Shi Wei said as she looked puzzled. “I’m your biological granddaughter!”
“What was the photograph you mentioned? What photographs did you take with you when you met Nuan?”
Shi Wei laughed as she answered, “I really don’t understand. Shi Nuan is not in any way related to you, but why do you favor her so much? Do you want to know what the photographs were, Grandfather? I’ll tell you then. They are photographs of when Shi Nuan was assaulted back when she was a teenager. Do you remember that incident, Grandfather? Shi Nuan went missing back then, and when she was found, her clothes were ripped apart and scattered everywhere. Did you really think she fell into the sea because she slipped? Hah, she was—”
“That’s enough!” Shi Yunsheng raised his hand and landed a slap on her face. “You took photographs? You actually did that? You b*stard! Shi Nuan’s your sister!”

However, Shi Wei did not realize that. When she heard his scolding, she glared angrily at him and said, “That’s right, Grandfather. You didn’t know, did you? If Shi Nuan hadn’t competed with me for the role in the play, I wouldn’t have treated her this way. I’m the most suitable candidate for that role. “You…” Shi Yunsheng took a deep breath as he squatted and hunched his back. “You ordered Nuan’s kidnap? You were only a teenager at that time. How did you…”

“You…” Before Shi Yunsheng could finish his words, he collapsed onto the ground.
Shi Wei was still laughing when he collapsed. She took a few steps back and watched in panic as Shi Yunsheng fell to the ground and remained motionless.
“Ah!” She screamed and squatted down as she tried to reach her trembling hand to Shi Yunsheng’s philtrum. Suddenly, the door to the study was pushed open. Shi Jingzheng, Jiang Yu, and the butler were at the door when they saw Shi Yunsheng on the ground while Shi Wei slumped to the ground in panic.
“Dad, Mom, I… Grandfather…”
“What are you waiting for? Call the ambulance!” Shi Jingzheng immediately approached Shi Yunsheng and knelt beside him. He reached out to put his finger under Shi Yunsheng’s nose and called, “Dad? Dad?”
“What happened?” Shi Jingzheng looked at Shi Wei, who was in shock. He grabbed her arms tightly and slapped her face. “What exactly happened?”
“I… Mom.” Shi Wei covered her face and burst into tears. “It wasn’t me! It really wasn’t! I don’t know why this happened. We were fine just now. I….”
