Outside the Henningsen residence, Jennifer had already led the Summers family members in a covert infiltration. Catina, Montane Daemon, and others were also present. Jennifer, concerned about Jared’s safety, asked Todd, “Mr. Rowland, do you think Oscar betrayed Mr. Chance? He was so determined to join the Demon Seal Alliance. If he indeed betrayed Jared, it could be dangerous for him.”
“I don’t think so. Mr. Chance has something on him. Would he throw his life away?” Todd replied, though he himself was uncertain about Oscar’s intentions.
Cloud and others on the sidelines were also getting anxious. A whole day had passed with no sign of activity, which was abnormal.
“Mr. Chance should be fine. Although there’s been no movement for a day, there’s no indication of a fight within the Henningsen farnily. Even if they figure out Mr. Chance’s identity, he wouldn’t just surrender,” Montane Daemon reassured Cloud and the others, trying to ease their worries.
“Then, let’s wait a little longer. If there’s still no news by tomorrow morning, we’ll have to rush in, Catina said with concern. At this moment, she no longer regarded Jared as a business partner. With every union she had with Jared, Catina gave her heart and soul. It was no longer like it was at the beginning when her purpose was solely to merge their bloodlines. However, Jared was unaware that Catina had already developed feelings for him.
Time ticked away, and the arcane array that Jared and his team had cracked was also slowly disappearing. In reality, Tyler and Oscar were merely observing; it was Jared who was actively destroying the arcane array. After a day and a night, the arcane array was finally destroyed.
At the moment the arcane array dissipated, a mysterious aura enveloped the entire Henningsen family. The water in the Holy Pond began to boil, emitting bubbles. The color of the water changed from dark green to clear, but the view underwater remained obscured as though something was obstructing the view.
The Henningsen family members sensed something unusual and rushed out of their rooms. Ilias looked toward the direction of the Holy Pond, his face brimming with excitement.
“The arcane array is gone! It’s gone!” Ilias laughed heartily, his body leaping up and vanishing in an instant. When Ilias appeared at the Holy Pond and observed the changes within it, he nearly leaped up in excitement.
Oscar approached him and reported, “Mr. Henningsen, the arcane array has been destroyed.”
“Great! The Summers family truly lives up to its reputation as the most proficient in magecraft across the southern region. I had no idea you could destroy the arcane array in such a short time!” Tyler praised Oscar.
“Mr. Henningsen, now that the arcane array has been destroyed, can you release my brother and nephew back to the Summers family?” Oscar anxiously inquired. As long as Tyler and Jacques return to the Summers family, Oscar would consider himself safe. Otherwise, he never knew when the poison might strike, which made him feel anxious.
“Take it easy, Mr. Oscar. I’ve said it before, once the arcane array is destroyed, not only will they be allowed to go back, but the Summers family will also receive generous gifts,” Ilias reassured Oscar. He then turned to Russell and said, “Mr. Russell, bring Rueben here now.”
Russell turned and left. In a short while, he returned with someone whose features were completely concealed by a black cloth bag.
