“Okay, you didn’t cry,” Shi Nuan smilingly replied. Even though her face was still extremely pale, it was obvious that she had already overcome the worst wave of pain.
She cupped Fu Chengyan’s face with both her hands and slowly got up. After getting into a more comfortable position, she hugged Fu Chengyan and nuzzled her head against his chest. When he lowered his eyes, Shi Nuan raised her head and straightened her body, rubbing her forehead against his. “I know you’re just worried about me.” She kissed the corner of Fu Chengyan’s lips and continued with a smile, “You’re the best and the most capable man in this world. How could you possibly cry? Leave all the crying to me!”
With that, Fu Chengyan’s gloomy mood was lifted.
He carefully held Shi Nuan in his arms and nuzzled against her tiny face. Upon noticing her improved condition, he kissed her cheek and the corner of her mouth. “Does it hurt?” he asked.
Shi Nuan did not want to lie to him, so she nodded and replied, “Yes.”
Hearing that, Fu Chengyan extended his hand and hovered it in front of Shi Nuan’s eyes. Puzzled, she looked at him and asked, “What are you doing?”
“How painful is it? Bite me and share your pain with me.”
The next moment, Shi Nuan was overcome with emotions. She wanted to cry, but she forcefully held back her tears. She wrapped her arms around his waist, saying, “No. There’s no need for the both of us to be in pain. One is enough.”

Su Shaoqing, who had been on standby outside, rushed in when he heard Fu Chengyan’s voice. The obstetrics and gynecology doctor, Yu Qing, also came in together with him. While Fu Chengyan was with Shi Nuan in the ward earlier, Su Shaoqing had ordered someone to bring Yu Qing.
“Hurry, take a look at May!”
Fu Chengyan stood up and laid Shi Nuan flat on the bed for Yu Qing to perform a checkup.
Yu Qing saw how pale Shi Nuan’s face was and reckoned the latter’s condition to be more serious than she had expected. She gave Shi Nuan a swift checkup before saying, “There’s no major problem at the moment. The babies are fine as well, but to be safe, I think we should do a blood test later.”
“Okay.” Su Shaoqing nodded in agreement. “Dr. Yu, we’ll be troubling you to give Shi Nuan a thorough check then.” He then patted Fu Chengyan’s shoulder and said, “Chengyan, come out with me.”
At the moment, Fu Chengyan’s hand was still holding Shi Nuan’s. Upon hearing Su Shaoqing, he frowned. Seeing that, Shi Nuan quickly released his hand and told him, “Dr. Yu is here. Yan, you don’t have to worry about me. I’ll be fine!”
“You need to be good and cooperate with Dr. Yu, okay?”
Fu Chengyan leaned forward and kissed Shi Nuan’s forehead. Afterward, he went out with Su Shaoqing. “What is it?”
Outside the ward, Li Heng, Pei Huan, and Bao were all there. Bao kept staring into the ward as he asked, “Uncle, what’s wrong with Aunt?”

“Have you decided what to do?” Su Shaoqing asked.
“Where is the Ghost Doctor?” Fu Chengyan could not count on Su Shaoqing now. The only solution left was to find Huo Jinnan, the Ghost Doctor, and see if he could do anything.

Fu Chengyan raised his head to look at Li Heng upon hearing that. “You found some clues about his whereabouts already?”
Li Heng nodded and replied, “Not too sure if it’s him yet. I only know he was in C Country for quite some time before going to Frosa. I don’t know where he is now, but don’t worry. The people I brought there haven’t returned yet. They are still searching for him.”
Fu Chengyan pursed his lips. “You know I can’t wait any longer.”
“Then what do you want to do?” Li Heng was aware that Fu Chengyan was feeling exactly what he felt when he found out that Pei Huan and Bao were injected with the virus.
Nothing felt more horrible than the incapability to do anything while watching Pei Huan and Bao suffer. Besides staying by their side, he really did not know what else he could do.
Fu Chengyan furrowed his brows tightly as he thought hard. In the end, he still could not come up with a solution. “Get manpower from my side and send more people over. I’m definitely going to find that Ghost Doctor!”
Pei Huan and Bao were not the only ones now. Shi Nuan and the two babies she was carrying were also infected with the virus. If they could not find a way to treat all of them, Li Heng would not be the only one breaking down. Fu Chengyan would also fall apart.
At this time, Su Shaoqing, who was standing at the side, felt terrible as well. Shi Nuan was his sister, while Pei Huan was a member of the Fu clan. Regardless, they were all people he knew.

“What solution?”

Fu Chengyan clenched his fists tightly as he listened, his knuckles cracking. “So what’s the solution?”
“Since the virus hasn’t spread extensively yet, I’m thinking we could extract something from the blood of Nuan’s close relatives and inject them into her body.”
