Lauden gazed at the distant red light and said, “Let’s go check it out. Someone might have already found the immortal’s tomb.”
The individuals from the Five Great Sects ceased their rest and then promptly headed toward the red light.
At that moment, Pablo was releasing streams of black mist continuously, defending against the fiery tidal wave unleashed by Jared.
Jared watched as Pablo awkwardly defended himself, a smirk playing on his lips. Immediately following that, his body sprang up, and the Demon Flogger materialized in his hand.
Pablo was busy fending off the flames, completely unguarded, when he was struck by the Demon Flogger.
The attack from the Demon Flogger, piercing through his heart and soul, caused Pablo to scream out in agony and collapse onto the ground.
He could bear physical pain without fear, but the Demon Flogger was specifically designed against Demonic Cultivators, targeting their spiritual sense.
The intensity of such neural agony far surpassed any physical discomfort.
As Pablo fell to the ground, the Demon Flogger cracked loudly in the air.
Pablo’s body trembled violently. His heart appeared to be quivering with dread. He was consumed by sheer terror.
“Jared, just kill me already. Why are you torturing me like this?”
Pablo knew that in front of Jared, there was absolutely no chance of escape. Thus, he resigned to the thought of embracing death.
At least in death, there could still be a sense of relief.
Yuliya was utterly taken aback as she watched Jared torture Pablo.
“I can kill you at any moment, but I choose not to. I want to torment you first. Have you forgotten what you did to me in the Celestial Battlefield?”
After Jared finished speaking, he swung the Demon Flogger at Pablo again.
Just then, Jared sensed someone approaching. His brow furrowed involuntarily as he instantly expanded his spiritual sense to investigate.
When he realized that the people were from the Five Great Sects, he seemed somewhat surprised.
The Five Great Sects are thousands of miles away from here. How did they get here? But the timing of their arrival is impeccable. I’ve been meaning to look for them. Sensing that the representatives of the Five Great Sects were already before him, Jared turned to Pablo and asked, “You were the one who killed the disciples of the Five Great Sects in the Celestial Battlefield. Why did you frame me for it? If you explain yourself, I might let you off easy.”
Pablo had no idea that the people from the Five Great Sects were nearby. So, he said, “It was all the Nesser family’s idea. They disguised themselves as you and then intentionally revealed the item pouch belonging to the disciples of the Five Great Sects, aiming to incite their hatred toward you. This way, they could manipulate others to do their dirty work.”
Upon hearing this, Jared realized it was Skylar’s idea all along, and suddenly everything made sense. Having interacted with Skylar for such a long time, he could tell it was indeed like him to do something like this.
Skylar was arguably the most cunning adversary Jared had ever encountered. He was ruthless and unscrupulous, showing no hesitation whatsoever.
“Jared, now that I’ve told you, just kill me already,” Pablo said to Jared.
He certainly didn’t want to endure another lashing from the Demon Flogger.
“Don’t worry. Someone else will do the killing for me.” After Jared finished speaking, he turned to the side. “Since you’re here, come out. You must have heard that the matter of killing the Five Great Sects’ disciples has nothing to do with me. It’s all this guy’s doing.”
Pablo was surprised. He then saw hundreds of people emerging from behind one side of the mountain.
Right at the front were the leaders of the Five Great Sects.
Seeing that, Pablo realized that he had been tricked by Jared.
